So, a few days back, I had claimed that I was setting eyes on a monstrous goal, but I was afraid I wouldn’t achieve it. And to say it was an epic plan, one that couldn’t be topped, is far from the truth – yet it was daunting to me. What I want to say, as I was very unconfident, so much so that I didn’t mention my aim, was that I accomplished my venture, and I might shoot for loftier targets.

“Alright Chris, enough with the suspense,” you might grumble. “Just spit it out….what did you do? Go ahead, brag about yourself! Blah! Blah! Blah!”

Okay, you talked me into it.

My outrageous endeavor was a ton of outdoor fun. I started with a five kilometer trail run. My time wasn’t great, and I was totally gassed by the end, but I finished it.

After my run, I went for a thirteen mile mountain bike ride. According to my watch, I burned 875 calories during that feat. It took slightly under an hour and forty minutes.

I finished with a five mile kayak paddle. That also took around an hour and forty minutes.

I’m not going to be a professional, nor do I really aspire to be, in any of these sports, but I do intend to participate in a few competitions. I know after I compete in a few, I’ll raise the bar in my own fitness goals. Right now, with these meager accomplishments, I feel on top of the world. When I come across others reaching better results, it’ll force me to realize, even if I’m aging, that I haven’t reached my ceiling yet. I firmly believe that.

So, there you have it, I can achieve a goal. Right now, that’s all I can ask for.
