What quality do you value most in a friend?

I think that, and it’s certainly a valuable trait, honesty is the most desired quality when seeking friendship. When one is genuine, it can lay the foundation for a growing relationship. It can also lead to productive communication.

Don’t get me wrong, just because a person is honest, it doesn’t mean I’ll automatically bond with them. If one is forthcoming and admits to being a Satanist, well, I’m probably going to steer clear of that individual. No offense, but I’m a Christian and Satanists scare me.

There are also other, less obvious, traits that might undermine a relationship. For instance, is that person punctual, and can I rely on them to show up for a get together? Granted, if they’re honest, and you ask them, provided they give you an answer, it shouldn’t be a problem. Yet, while I link honesty with reliability, sometimes it’s just not the case. However, if the person is truthful, they’d come out and tell you they’re not going to be there.

Was that rambling? Yes? Eh, I’m not going to omit it. I think it illustrates the complexity of human interaction.

Anyways, there are other traits that might lead to friendship, but if you can’t believe a word someone says, why would you associate with them? So, that being stated, I think the honesty trait is the true friendship winner.

Have an excellent day!
