Long ago, a brand new mode of transportation changed America. It brought people from New York to California, it brought materials to vital factories and it brought luxurious goods to western towns. Literally, with the advent of the train, America flourished…and Green Bay was just like every other town in the good ole USA.

Today, although freight trains still have their place, passenger trains are extinct. Granted, there are tourism attractions that use classic rail, meaning lumbering vestiges of yesteryear, and they use them as a means of sightseeing. Hold on…trains…vestiges…tourist spots…ooh! I know a place, and it’s right in the heart of Green Bay’s downtown.

The rail yard district boasts a few area businesses. Of note, and the ones I know best, are Title Town Brewing Company.

Or, better yet, a restaurant known as the Depot,

whose building is on the National Registry of Historical Places.

There’s also housing options in this hub of industry,

Commerce

and residential spaces.

Anyways, if you’re visiting Green Bay, WI, the Railyard District might brighten your day.

It’s plain to see why it might!

Safe Travels!
