Today, since I’m working, and today’s prompt asks for a noteworthy occurrence, I’ll write about my job. And this notable thing, which took place only minutes ago, is a positive happening. So, I’ll get to the meat of this brief post.

To start off, without any further ado, I unload trucks. But, before that, I also pull merchandise from warehouse racks. This helps our stockers fill empty shelves. We load up the carts; they take them to the sales floor.

That was not the noteworthy occurrence. That happened to be, and it has never been my Friday task, the fact that I worked in break packs. I know you probably don’t know what that is. It’s simply taking unsorted loose freight from boxes, ones we call break backs, and placing them in a tote designated for that item’s department. I think it’s the most difficult task we perform.

I usually attack this challenge on Sundays and Wednesdays. But Todd, our designated break pack guy, was busy with other tasks. So, before I started my usual Friday job, I did that for about an hour. With everything else I’ve tackled on this Friday, I feel pretty accomplished.
