What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?
At first, I wasn’t going to answer this prompt. Truth be told, I have no idea how old most of my household items are. But, if I had to guess, taking into consideration its everyday use, I’d have to say my recycling bin is the oldest.
It once was my trash can, but then I bought a steel can. When I switched to steel, I was pretty proud of that purchase. “I know what you’re thinking, “You’re proud of your garbage can? And I’ll reply with an emphatic, “Ya, it comes complete with a lid opening foot pedal.”
Anyways, back to my recycling bin…it’s really nasty. I’ve used bleach compounds, but the dirt is ground into its cream exterior. Besides being grubby, this vinyl bin is nothing special.
I don’t remember when I purchased this can, and I don’t remember how much I paid for it, but it’s survived a few moves. It has served me well, and I don’t plan on replacing it.
If I were to replace it, I’d find something better. But, for now, being that it has been with me for some time, it’ll continue to stay in my kitchen’s corner.
Have an excellent day!
