When I look towards this world’s future, I get excited..and I think of the possibilities. Unfortunately, because I hear a lot of doomsday theories, I also have rational fears. One particular apocalyptic scenario, a prophecy I’ve read in a book, is pretty concerning.

And what I’m most concerned about, given the rate of growth, can be validated with concrete statistics. As a whole, with modern medicine saving more and more lives, the Earth’s population is growing at a rapid rate.

With a fast rising population, concerns about natural resources, pollution and property costs take center stage. Yet, there’s more to worry about.

There’s also famine and widespread disease to raise slight panic. I know, I know, some of that may sound a bit paranoid. But thinking of stability, and sustainability, we need to be forward thinking. Will we be the rulers of our planet, or will we be the cancer that destroys it? It’s our choice, and ignoring it is a poor one.
