What are you most excited about for the future?
The future…it’s full of promise. And, if humans play positive roles, it can provide lax lifestyles and harmonious relationships. At least, I envision such a path will exist. What excites me most, when I think beyond tomorrow, is the use of clean energy. In this short post, I’ll tell you why the mention of wind, solar and hydroelectric power thrill my soul.
First off, what do trains and big oil have in common? I’ll tell you; They became household names during the late nineteenth century…the late 19th Century.
Isn’t it the the twenty first century? And how often do we use trains fastened to railroad ties? How often? Okay, they’re great for industrial transportation. But Dwight D. Eisenhower, yeah, the US Army general and 34th President, he did away with old steam and coal engines long ago….at least when thinking of passenger carrying locomotives.
Yet, and I say yet with despair and disdain, we are still using gas powered vehicles…in staggering numbers. And change is needed.
When it comes to heat and electricity, we still use coal, and we still use natural gas. It just seems, and maybe we’re set in our ways, or big business is gripping the good ole USA with iron fists, but we need to move forward.
It’s like clinging to that relationship that’s constantly emitting toxic fumes, with every single step one takes. But we’re holding on to it, for What? For the sake of the children? That’s nuts, Right? We need to move on to the next big thing.
And much to my pleasure, I see turbines churning in farmer’s fields. I see progress with lithium ion batteries, and I hope one day, and I pray it happens, to have solar panels fixed to my home.
I think, for me, using cleaner energy is a necessary evolution. And, even in middle age, I get amped when positive change occurs. I was also a huge fan of Star Wars and Star Trek. So, seeing the future come to life, well, it’s really awesome.
Have an excellent day!
