What do you listen to while you work?
Listening: not all of us do it. We hear it, we may even see it, but many of us, for one reason or another, are not fond of listening to what’s vibrating our ear drums. Okay, I know, when someone reads today’s prompt, one must think of music. But really, when I’m working, I only hear music. What I really listen to, only because it’s imperative, and that’s because I want to keep my job, anyways, I listen to my boss (or el jefe). In this short post, I’ll explain my thoughts.
Sometimes, at work, communication is key. Don’t get me wrong, my tasks are usually laid out before I stride through the door. And usually, I’m able to perform them well, yet every day is different.
So, with that said, the boss is bound to throw a curve, and, when he does, I’ll intently listen…not because he’s a great friend, but because I value my job. Actually, my bosses aren’t horrible people. Plus, when it comes to our job, they’re pretty knowledgeable.
Of course, besides the boss, and of tantamount importance, I’ll also listen to our customers. When involved in just about any task, my work comes to a halt when a patron needs assistance.
Is it frustrating? Sometimes. But generally, I like people, and customers are why I have my job. If our store loses them, workers may no longer be required.
So, I’ll wrap this up. Basically, if it’s important to the mission, I’ll listen. Then, of equal demand, I’ll act accordingly.
Have an Excellent Day!!
