How would you describe yourself to someone?
It’s the weirdest thing in the world. I mean, every single day…no, closer yet…every single second, I see exactly what I do. And I have a positive self image, BUT…is that how others see me? Today, I’ll critically analyze myself, and, in this post, I’ll give you my best description of me.
Fist off, I’m tenacious, and it’s often to my detriment. I’m a firm believer of this mantra: ‘If you believe in what you’re doing, and don’t give up, something good will definitely come from your efforts’. Despite resounding failures, I doggedly remain persistent.
Secondly, I’m fairly intelligent. I’m not going to kick anyone’s butt in jeopardy, but my knowledge, especially in the realm of history, is slightly better than average.
Another fun fact about me, even if I won’t admit it, I do love sports. Lately, I’m learning more about soccer. Although my childhood favorites, ones that truly seem impossible to lose adoration for, happen to be American football and baseball.
Okay, I know, I started off with attitude, intelligence and affinities. Yet, and probably confusingly, I haven’t mentioned my personal appearance. Let’s just put it this way, God did not want me to play football. I’m 5’ 8” and of very slight build, being about 150 pounds…and that’s when I hop out of the shower.
I am physically fit. My sandy blonde hair, despite nearing fifty, has retained most of its youthful color. Yet, my hairline is horribly receding. In a desperate attempt to appear youthful, I haven’t cut my hair in over fourteen months.
I mentioned that I’m physically fit. I believe that spiritual, physical and mental health are something that must be addressed daily. So, I engage in several activities that ensure health maintenance. Many times, one activity nails each point of my well being.
And since I’ve mentioned that, I think I should expand upon what some of those activities are. I feel I should, mainly, because what you do defines you. So, my favorite activity, and I believe it helps me mentally, emotionally and, most definitely, physically, would be mountain biking. From spring to late fall, I try to hit the trails two to three times a week.
If there are drawbacks to who I am, one negative is the fact that I can be annoying, especially if something is bothering me. But usually, if something’s eating at me, I’ll strap on my running shoes, or I’ll throw the kayak atop my EV, or, better yet, as I had mentioned, I‘ll ride my bike through the forest.
Another characteristic of mine, drawback or not, is the fact that I watch very little television. Most days, especially workdays, I won’t turn it on. However, just because I do other things, that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy watching the idiot box. It’s just that, when I do, I’ll make an event of it.
So, there, that’s a brief introduction of myself. There are other facets of my life, like the fact that I try to live a sustainable lifestyle, that I’ve failed to mention. But, for now, I think I’ve provided you a taste of who I am.
Have an Excellent Day!!
