What are you curious about?
Today, on a rather extensive kayak voyage, well, it was long for me, anyways, I had a question looming in my mind. So, being that today’s WordPress prompt is asking what I’m curious about, I’ll expand upon my quandary. (okay, pretentious word choice). (Let’s try this) In this post, I’ll write about the perplexing question I had while paddling the East River…I think that’s better.
Lately, I’ve been paddling west, and then I return east, along the East River. I start at Green Isle Park, which is in Allouez. From there, I paddle to the river’s end, where it feeds into the Fox River….That’s where my questions start.
Today, I started my paddle at 7am. It’s 5.3 miles to the Fox River. For those that don’t know, the Fox River is a main artery in Northeast Wisconsin. Its end point is Green Bay, which is a bay of Lake Michigan. I’m intimidated by this rather broad river.
Mainly, I don’t know how strong the current is. Since I don’t have a seafaring kayak, being swept into Green Bay could be disastrous. So, I’d really like to know the strength of that river’s flow. Because, if it wasn’t too strong, I’d continue paddling for a few more miles…heck, I might make the journey an all day event.
But for now, since I don’t know, and I really don’t know who to ask, I’ll stick with the East River.
Have an Excellent Day!
