How often do you walk or run?
Physical fitness. If I were to tell you about myself, I’d say, yeah, I stay healthy. So, one might ask about my cardio activity. Today, in this short post, I’ll tell you about my fitness pursuits.
On Sundays, or, if I yearn for a little fresh air, on early weekdays, I will usually walk several miles. Yet, I’ll also run five kilometers once or twice a week.
But what really keeps me lean, and I love to do it, in fact, being I was totally free earlier today, I pedaled ten miles, anyways, yes, I love mountain biking.
However, this time of year is precipitating a discouraging truth. You may ask, “What truth is that?” That truth, and it leaves me a bit sulky, is that fall is approaching. So, soon, the trails will close. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall rides. Yet, getting nearer every day, my trail traveling opportunities will be gone.
With my mountain biking chances dwindling, I’m getting set for longer and more frequent runs. When the frost nips pollen producers in the bud,(I know, horrible pun) my lung capacity becomes much greater. So, at least twice a week, during winter and spring months, I’ll run ten kilometers.
My sister Shannon has always been a runner. Myself, I smoked in my twenties and thirties, and, while I’ll claim to be a biker first, I have seriously improved my running fitness. I even bought premium running shoes for this winter. In the past year, I’ve ran over three hundred miles. So, I feel the purchase is justified.
Anyhoo, today’s prompt asked about my running habits. This post is my answer. I urge anyone, that is anyone who doesn’t smoke, to attempt to run. It will improve so many aspects of your life. So much so, you’ll ask yourself, “What the heck did I do before exercise?”
Have an Excellent Day!
