What would your life be like without music?

Music, it’s everywhere I go…and that wasn’t always the case. Honestly, without music, I don’t know if I’d be alive. In this short post, I’ll share my reasoning with you.

I’ll start with this, being that I’m emotionally strung out, today, I was going to take a break from writing. But, although I haven’t touched an instrument in years, music has continuously played an instrumental role in my life.(Was that a pun? Eh, sorry)

Music has the power to save, heal and inspire. Throughout my life, it has done that for me…time and again.

When I was younger, and I’m talking really young, music playing devices were limited. Yet, I remember, and I believe this is true for many people, my love for music started at a young age.

I distinctly remember bringing a Sesame Street record to kindergarten class. I loved it, and so did my friends. The tunes were rather raucous for kids music, and, if there ever was a mosh pit in 1980, the Southern Door School grounds witnessed it.

I believed then that music was powerful, so it has always been a outlet for my emotional needs.

In the midst of depression, music has lifted me up. In fits of anger, it has soothed the beast within. In times of confusion, it has provided guidance. Yes, I believe that music will always be a key in my life. I listen to so many genres, I couldn’t claim to be a snob. Yet, hard rock music…well, since I’ve been young, that has been my first choice.

So, yes, music, without it, right now, I probably would not be pecking at this keyboard…and I really believe that to be true. To say I don’t get lost in a song, well that would be like telling you I’m 6’ 5”.

Have an Excellent Day!
