I’m not answering today’s prompt, which asked for my favorite piece of advice. In my life, I’ve received both good and bad advice, mainly good. And those valuable bits of info came from multiple sources. So, instead, to avoid valuing one person over another, I’ll share some photos and wish everyone an excellent day.

This morning, with the knowledge that fall is now upon us, I had decided to paddle the East River. That small, serpentining body of water, which, I admit, is a bit murky, anyways, the East River is a tributary of the longer and broader Fox River.

While I wasn’t aware of it at the time, my paddle was a subtle statement, a languid escape and a moderate stress reliever rolled into one. Earlier, when I began strapping my kayak to the car, I hadn’t planned on taking photos, but the placid scenery, amicable weather and my surly mood prompted a little artistic expression.

I saw windows of opportunity, ones framed by ages of effort.

I stood bare against a baroque sky.

And I looked at the beauty nearby,

yet, I also gazed at distant bridges yet to be crossed.

Well, my morning, as you can tell by these photos, was a pleasant success. With that small win bolstering my being, I’ll approach my workday poised and eager…

Have an Excellent Day!!

  1. Thanks…my prose, eh, I rushed the text, and my clarity was lacking. But, as my father has said thousands of times, I appreciate your appreciation!
