Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

If you were curious, and wondered if I’ll ever pay extra for anything, I’ll tell you yes, and I know exactly what I’d unload a few extra bucks on. Yet, by others’ standards, I might be too cheap. In this short post, I’ll tell you what my most expensive purchase, minus autos and home, happened to be.

It was an entry level mountain bike, and I paid $850 for it. That may sound like a lot, but some bikes cost several thousand dollars.

Plus, I can justify buying a costly bike. Consider this: It’s made by a world renowned builder, it carries a lifetime warranty and I use it often. I literally ride 500 miles a year…well, this year it was a little less, but that’s my average.

So, yes, I’ll pay more for a bike than furniture, appliances or power tools. That’s because, in other realms, well, bargain basement items suit my purposes, but a decent performing bike, one that’s sturdy enough to handle rugged trails…well, I’m going to shell out some dinero.

Have an Excellent Day!
