What’s your favorite month of the year? Why?
When I think of the four seasons, I can firmly state this fact: there’s pros and cons when considering any yearly segment. Yet, I do have a favorite season, and if I were to be more specific, and if I had to narrow it down to a single month, I think I know which month I’d choose. In this post, I’ll give you my choice.
First off , cooler temps, certainly not frigid, yet comfortably cool, allow me to exercise with freedom. So, I guess, with twelve months to choose from, and two seasons eliminated, I’ve cut my choices in half.
I’ll go a little further, and I’ll state this: springtime is too sloppy. With muddy soil and higher water levels, a lot of outdoor pursuits are better put off until summer.
Yet, since summer is rather blistering, and winter is too frigid, there’s little else left. With weather a huge determining factor , I’ve slimmed down my choice of months to three. Okay, I know, December is mostly a fall month, but everyone identifies it as winter time.
So, I’m left with September, October and November…and I’ll choose October. There many reasons to choose the tenth month of the year.
First of all, the month’s final day is a fun celebration. It may not be my favorite holiday, but many Halloween traditions are ancient. Besides that, it’s a great time to let loose and have fun, and we can mock things that scare us.
If I were in my youth, and if I were listing excellent October attributes, Halloween would be last. That’s because, when making said list, I usually finish up with my favorite aspect. However, I’m fifty. So I’ll choose other happenings as more important.
So, that being said, fall leaves would be better. Vibrant hues, ones adorning deciduous tree tops, make for beautiful landscapes. And when you’re trekking on a forested trail, casually falling leaves can make for a magical setting.
And finally, in October, the weather is perfect for exercise. When, running, biking or kayaking, The cooler temps allow for comfortable conditions. So, yes, fall adventures, even if this year was rainy, are very entertaining and memorable.
Man, it’s closing in on midnight. So, in a few minutes, a new prompt will beg answering. Anyways…
Have an Excellent Day!!
