What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?
Not to beat a dead horse, but, yes, although the weather doesn’t permit it, I’d love to mountain bike…and I stress mountain bike. An indoor bike is not appealing. It’s actually sheer boredom. Some say, and I hear it often, watch TV while doing it…here’s why I don’t.
First off, if I were to be engaged with the television program, then I’m not paying attention to my exercise. My pace would lag, and I’d simply be going through the motions.
Secondly, have you ever been mountain biking? It’s full of challenging hills, tricky terrain and beautiful scenery. If I’m using an exercise bike, well, I’m not even outdoors. And no nature show will quell that yearning.
Lastly, I just don’t like watching TV. Don’t get me wrong, during my free time, I’ll decompress by watching a sporting event, but, on workdays, when I’m delving into other pursuits, the TV rarely is on. That actually allows better awareness.
So, my favorite activity, and I know, I strayed from the question, but, if you’ve ever read my past posts, you’d realize I’m an avid mountain biker, anyways, that’s my answer: mountain biking.
I also enjoy running. And, because the bike trails are closed, I’ll run more often. Nothing resets my brain like a runner’s high. On days like yesterday, I need that.
I also enjoy kayaking, and I really can’t do that either. As a substitute, I have a short strength training routine.
So, I know, this is a horrible piece of writing…it’s simply pointless. But, today, expression in rambling fashion is a must. Is that nuts? Eh, maybe, but I hope you enjoyed this bit of chaos.
