I remember the inception of the internet, and I remember the excitement that surrounded its infancy. There was so much said: it would connect the world…cyberspace was infinite…our lives would become easier. Most of that holds true, and, in my post, I’ll tell you how I utilize the internet most.

Chiefly, and it goes without saying, I communicate with many via my blog. In 2023, I’ve reached over 60 countries. That simply blows my mind, and I love the fact that I’ve reached out to mostly every continent.

There are other ways I use the web for communication, and these are really common. They would include Facebook and Twitter, but there are other mediums also…however, I use them so seldom, and I actually don’t remember the last time I had, so I’m really not going to list them.

I think it’s strange. Here I am, a man in a fairly sizable city, and, instead of talking to the neighbor Nextdoor, I’m writing this for you. Needless to say, while the internet has connected the world, it has also separated us. Those of us who are worlds apart converse daily, yet people right next door are visited rarely.
