Today’s prompt is fairly easy. When I think of the most important invention during my life, it could only be one of two digital contrivances. Even if both are rather powerful, and they practically go hand in hand, in this short post, I’ll have to pick a clear cut winner.

First off, let’s start with the device I’m using right now: the smartphone. It revolutionized our world…I know, that’s obvious. It also eliminated countless common gadgets from most households. In my childhood home, I had a telephone, atlas, compass, camera…I think you get the point, yeah, today, you won’t find any of those items in my house, and that’s because, being that I have a cellphone, I simply don’t need those other things. Now that I’ve explained my reasons, I think you understand why I value my cellphone.

Yet…

Hold on a second. During my long life, there has been a second invention, and it was equally important. This would be the internet; it literally connected the world. These days, if you’d like to visit friends, shop online or perform countless other tasks, you can do practically everything from the comfort of your home.

So, now that I’ve explained both inventions, and now that I gave a very short, broad and general explanation of their importance, I have to choose which one is more important.

Hmmm…even though many of my smartphone operations rely on the internet, I’m going to say that my hand held device is more important…it, as it has many people, changed my entire life, and I rely on this thing more than I rely on any person…is that sad? Yeah, anyways…
