If I had the power to change one law, hmm…I had to think about this. I’m not a politician, so legal debates are rather foreign to me. Yet, old laws are stricken, and, consequently, new laws are written, practically everyday. So, in this post, I’ll come up with something.

I guess, my biggest gripe, if I were to address unfair laws, would be the cost to renew my car’s license plates. That fee totals to about a full auto loan payment.

The reason why this fee is so high, as I mention my expensive renewal fee, is because I have an EV. Usually, having something eco-friendly qualifies for tax credits, but not this time. Because I have a fully electric car, I dodge the gas tax…but not really. At the end of the year, the Wisconsin DOT gets their share, and they do it by charging an outrageous amount for a plate sticker…it’s like four times higher than a gas powered vehicle’s tag.

So, if I were in the state senate, I’d be yelling in the chamber, I’d be pounding on my desk and I’d demand equal fees for every Dairyland citizen!
