If there was a biography about you, what would the title be?
Everybody has a story, and their titles, that being of such stories, might compel many to read the teller’s saga. Of course, being that personal dramas are different, we need a telling title attached to that tale. If I were to write my own autobiography, and if I were to be honest, and if I were to give it a fitting label, I have only one great choice for my header. In this short, albeit boring, autobiographical blog post, I’ll give you my no brainer choice.
Even if I am fifty years old, and many momentous events have occurred during my life, I don’t think I’m ready to pen an autobiography…and I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable, yes, it’d be really awkward, if I were to let someone else write about me.
Yet, enough water has traveled under the bridge, and has flowed beyond recovery, that a good portion could be written. But my life is far from over. And where I want to be, where I feel I’m destined to land, well, I’m not there yet.
So…as I view my life as a climb, a fight to achieve higher ground, I have one particular title in mind…and it’s definitely not flattering…’Still Climbing at Base Camp’.
Yes I’d compare myself to a mountain climber, one whose fortunes see him only as a beginner…even if he’s been climbing his entire life. As he strives for that peak, well, right now, he realizes it’s beyond his vision, but he knows it’s there…and he believes he has the skills to get there…that’s me.
So, long story short, the title of my biography, as my life sits right now, would be ‘Climbing at Base Camp.’ And I feel, without a doubt, especially when one considers my mental attitude, it’s the most apt description of my life’s current status.
Have an Excellent Day!
