What advice would you give to your teenage self?
Looking back at my life, and regretting certain decisions, there are some words advice I’d love to give teenaged me. In this rather brief post, I’ll share some with you.
First off, I’d tell myself this: “There is no normal life, and everybody is confronted with unfair obstacles. Don’t deny those bumps in the road. Instead, use your disadvantages, and, somehow, someway, turn them into advantages.”
Secondly, I’d make sure I understood, because I do struggle with this at times, that I was an average human. No good can come from thinking you’re better than others, and, certainly, no good can come from believing you’re worse than everybody else.
“With billions of people on earth, there will always be people better than you. Work to be the best you, and, yes, even if you try your hardest, at times, you will fall short. If you stick by that, you’ll find, in the end, that you are unique, yet, you have a particular place in this world.”
I’d also tell myself this: “ Be mindful of what you say, careless words can bite you in the butt.”
Lastly, I’d give myself a bit of romantic advice. “Don’t put on a phony show…be who you are. Yes, sometimes, because you are who you are, a girl will pass you over.”
And continuing with that, “Understand that the right girl will come in time, she might not be the prettiest woman on the planet, but she’ll suit you…and she might prove better than the prettiest woman…in many ways.”
So, that’s my advice to my younger self. There’s so much more I’d say. But really, those words, the ones written above, yes, I’d really want young me to understand them.
Have an Excellent Day!!
