If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?
If I were a public censor, and if I had the power to create word usage stigma…did that make sense? Anyways, if I could ban a word, any word, it’d be flakey.
You see, actually, I’ve been called a bit flakey, and I hate the word’s connotation. It implies that I’m not all there. It implies that I’m not credible, and it implies that I shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Believe me, anybody, and I mean anybody, wants to believe their opinion matters, and they want to believe their words can be viewed as concrete visions of fact. I work for that.
So, that word, that detractor of a reliable persona…yes, flakey…it’s gotta go!
