Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

I’m not much of a DIY guy. Although, yes, to cut labor costs, I’ve installed, and created, a few decent things in my life. And, although there have been some adventurous efforts, I’ll highlight my most recent project.

Over this past summer, being that I was unequivocally inspired, and being that I had an idle 84” television lying around, and being that I loved watching soccer, I created an outdoor man cave. Okay, it’s not totally outdoors, but when you sit on my sun porch’s benches, you get the sense you’re at the stadium. My sound system, which carries the crowd’s noise, reverberates off the walls, and, with all windows open, the summer breeze allows an actual live action atmosphere.

I got the Idea, that idea being of an outdoor man cave, while watching a few soccer games. During late spring, while watching live MLS matches, I was spurred by an invigorating sensation. I mean…my living room was rocking, so I decided to enhance that atmosphere.

First, I rounded up team flags, banners, pennants…cheeseheads, and I hung them on the sun porch’s walls. After that, and after gathering materials, and over a couple of weeks, I erected wood benches…they have Green Bay Packers cushions.

After the cosmetic touches and seating accommodations were all set, I purchased a Roku, and I hooked up a first rate sound system to my television. When that was finished, my off nights were all about sports TV.

So yeah, while not monumental, my sun porch was last year’s big DIY project. Hmmm…I wonder what I’ll tackle this summer…
