How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?
I couldn’t point to one singular instance, a gut wrenching epic disaster, and tell you, “Yes, that’s when it all made sense.” I’m stubborn, and, in my long and eventful life, there was a lot I needed to understand. So, in my post, I’ll tell you what I’ve learned.
As far as success, I’ve learned this: don’t let someone destroy your confidence. Some people, yes, they may act very friendly, and they may say all the right things, and then, at that crucial moment, you realize their motives were of greed. That stings, and it renders self doubt.
I’ve learned that, yeah, some scumbags will take advantage of people, I’m no exception, but even if I’ve been had, it doesn’t make me totally worthless. Yeah, I may never be popular, yeah, some people think I’m obnoxious, and, yes, I’m not the prettiest man on the planet, but it doesn’t mean I can’t play a vital role in someone’s life. I think realizing that has made me a better human…and I’d call that a success.
Have an Excellent Day!
