What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
It’s a simple question, and it’s easy to answer, and, almost always, it’s a well intentioned sentiment. Yet…hmmm…yeah, I hate it. Because, usually, if someone asks, “Are you Okay?” It implies that some unfortunate circumstance has occurred, and, apparently, if someone is posing that question, I’m a victim of that occurrence. Here, let me explain myself further…
I had a girlfriend, and, if I simply coughed, she would ask me, “Are you okay?” That’s annoying. I know she meant well, but I simply couldn’t stand that question.
Yet, I don’t think the blame falls wholly on her. Truthfully, if I were to tumble down a mountain face, and, if I stood up unscathed after that fall, and, after it was obvious that no harm had come to me, yet, to show his or her concern, someone were to ask that same question…I’d probably glare at them…because I’d be ticked I fell down the mountain. Yeah, I’d be ticked about grabbing an unstable rock, or just not keeping firm footing. So, the apparent sympathy would be humiliating.
I’d delve further into this subject, but, mentally, I’ve been struggling today. Please, I’d appreciate if no one comments, “I sure hope you’re okay!!”
Have an Excellent!!
