What is the last thing you learned?
My grandmother had a favorite phrase: ‘Everything you do in life, you learn a little bit’. And today, while I continued to nurse my knee, and while I kicked back and relaxed, and while I caught a few soccer matches, I had discovered a new European football team.
Its name, and I’m assuming that’s where the team is from, is Qarabag. Today, this underdog group played their hearts out, and this home team treated their fans to a tie.
Okay, you might say, “Hold on, you’re impressed by a tie game?”
To that understandable query, I’ll answer, “Yeah, they tied a team that hasn’t been beaten all year.” That team would be the Bundasliga’s Leverkusen.
Qarabag started out wonderfully, and the team had a halftime lead: 2-0. As you might imagine, towards the end of the game, Qarabag ran out of gas, cramping and committing mental errors. And as Leverkusen subbed their players, replacing the stand-ins with the usual starters, well, Qarabag succeeded by keeping the comeback to only two goals.
Needless to say, after watching the electric stadium in Qarabag, I have respect for this little known soccer outfit.
Have an Excellent Day!
