Okay, did you see this past weekend’s MLS games? Some of them, yes many hotly contested matches, were really good! Yet, I have to ask myself, while trying to create a buzz, hmmm…did I get my facts one hundred percent correct? Here’s my lame apology.

First off, I really, really, really enjoyed Portland versus Columbus. It ended in a 2-2 tie. While watching, and remembering how I had mentioned Columbus wasn’t living up to their goal scoring potential, here’s what I should have written…

Whatever off field distractions Cucho Hernandez had been creating, well, they’ve certainly been remedied. The result was a barrage of Columbus chances. It made for excellent viewing.

Secondly, with my next choice, I didn’t mention that Sporting Kansas City versus St. Louis was a ginormous in state rivalry. Okay, I did mention there would be fireworks, I had also mentioned that Sporting couldn’t hold a lead, so when St. Louis tied the game at 3-3…eh, I sensed redemption. Yes, that last second goal capped off an incredible game.

Okay, this may have seemed like an error, man, I didn’t pick Vancouver versus Seattle. Last week, against the LA Galaxy, the Canadian squad looked pedestrian against Joseph Paintsil and the boys. I was expecting a hangover game, plus, Seattle, while I thought they would win, are making on field personnel transitions. And while my assumptions weren’t wholly accurate, I think the game wasn’t all that great.

Anyways, the surprising Red Bulls versus a tough LAFC squad…well, it seemed like a better choice. While the Red Bulls defense really stymied LAFC, somehow, the game ended in a 2-2 tie. So, in my defense, while LAFC versus the Red Bulls wasn’t the night’s best game, I think it was a better choice than Vancouver taking on Seattle.

Alright, now that I’ve sped through last Saturday’s games, I’ll do the same with Sunday’s, and I’ll point out my errors. My only mistake with Charlotte versus Minnesota was this: the game really wasn’t that entertaining.

What do you expect?…MNUFC is my favorite team!!

Granted, Minnesota’s goals were quality, but it was a lopsided affair. I do feel the Loons are well disciplined, and, though they don’t possess eye catching talent, they might be hard to beat.

Finally, a wild affair in LA capped off the weekend. Right when it appeared LA would walk away with an easy W, they were hit with a red card…ooh, and a converted penalty kick. Yet, despite being a man down, the Galaxy survived the highest scoring game of the week, and they secured a 4-3 victory.

It’s early in the season, yet, the San Jose team must sense a certain desperation. I do think the Quakes are a better team, they need a few bounces to go their way. Next week, they take on a floundering Nashville side. Both teams are under the gun, it should be an interesting match up.

As far as the LA Galaxy, although one game has already been played, which ended in a draw, I’m stoked for another Inter Miami versus LA Galaxy showdown…and I’d prefer everyone was healthy.

So that’s me correcting myself, albeit I think I’m actually defending myself. Catch my next blog, which posts Friday at seven PM. That short bit will contain five upcoming matches, one’s that would certainly be worth reading.

Entertainment is the Goal!!
