Alright, this post might read rather rough; it’s purely a hurried, under researched, and chaotic piece. Yet, because the MLS has scheduled a ton of Wednesday games, I feel obliged to hype several of today’s matches.
First off, and I’m sorry I’ll miss it, the LA Galaxy will take on Minnesota United. I feel this game is about pure talent versus great coaching. I’m rooting for the home Loons, yet, dude, the Galaxy, despite stumbling lately, are still very formidable. This game will take place on a warm Minnesota night.
Another match worth a peek, one with a six thirty Central Time Zone start, might be Montreal versus Columbus. On Saturday, Montreal certainly tested Miami’s mettle. This week, in another Montreal home game, and also losers on Saturday, Columbus will seek vengeance, and they’ll look to get their offense into gear. I am looking forward to watching this game after work. The temps will be in the high fifties, and there is a slight chance of rain.
Of course, the premier match will be Miami versus Orlando. It’s an instate rivalry, it features great talent and it should be fun. Messi and friends look to keep their win streak rolling, and Orlando tries to climb from the standings’ lower rungs. Oh, here’s a bit of MLS irony: since this game is set in Orlando, Miami’s odds are greater. The Lions have only won one home game this year…but, I’d say they’re due for a win. The temps should be perfect for soccer.
Another glance worthy game should be LAFC versus St. Louis. I am predicting a flurry of shot attempts. Both of these talented teams ended their Saturday night with three goals. What’s more, with the game set in the Gateway City, LAFC has yet to win on the road, and St. Louis hasn’t lost at home. But…man, the law of averages tells me something has to give. Come game time, the temps will be perfect for soccer.
Finally, because none of the West Coast games piqued my interest, I’ll finish my post with another East Coast matchup. DC United versus the New York Red Bulls should be fun. With DC’s header aficionado, Christian Benteke, combined with New York’s Lewis Morgan, this game should be competitive and entertaining. This game takes place in our nation’s capital, and the weather will be perfect for soccer.
Okay, with those five matches, I feel my singular goal is complete. Of course, the experts might feel differently, but I write purely from a TV spectators point of view. Since you’ll also be watching via a television set, and maybe you’re only a passive soccer fan, you just might see value in my post.
Entertainment is the Goal!!
