Okay, I’m a bit burnt out. So, being that life is asking for more than I can possibly give, this post will be brief, and I’ll recount only three MLS matches. These entertaining athletic exhibitions took place this past Saturday. And even if I’m worn and weary, I had fun watching Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass. Here’s the specifics of my Saturday evening.
First off, the New York Red Bulls versus New York City is something I just had to see. New York City made the most of their chances, and, while I thought the Red Bulls displayed superiority, the home team, in a rather inadequate venue, pulled off the win. The final was New York City 2 and the Red Bulls 1.
My second choice was a game I simply couldn’t miss. The Portland Timbers took on Minnesota United. To be honest, I wasn’t happy with the officiating. Yet, even if I feel the home team was unfairly treated, and even if Portland jumped out to an early lead, great defense, superior goal tending and excellent shots helped MNUFC. That inspired the Minnesota faithful to sing Wonder Wall after the final whistle. The final tally saw the Loons conquer the Timbers 2-1.
The last game I watched contained unbridled action. I’m finding, when they are at home, Austin FC are just plain fun to watch. Last Saturday’s match proved that fact. An exciting first half yielded three goals, and Austin treated their fans to a victory. 3-2 was the final score.
Okay, I admit, there were plenty of other games on Saturday, and many were worth watching. Yet, to be honest, I needed to take a mini break. So, instead of recapping five games, I gave you these three. You can check them out on MLS Season Pass anytime you want.
Entertainment is the Goal!
