Okay, I had previewed a few matches, and those rather odd hype jobs appeared in my Friday WordPress post. Yes, I chose to predict a few great MLS Saturday showdowns. Yet, even if I tasked myself with finding entertaining contests, I chose matches that weren’t filled with premier names.
One of those matches happened to be Sporting Kansas City versus the Portland Timbers.
I selected this match for good reason: Even if Kansas City is not a very successful team, their woes make for entertaining matches. Last Saturday, those poor footballers proved that fact.
Let me explain.
After Portland took the lead, SKC tied the match with a goal of their own. However, I should point out that SKC has lost a ton of points this year. Yes, even if Sporting appeared to have secured a point, Portland scored a late goal, and SKC lost again. If you were to glimpse the standings, and if you were to survey their rather lowly position, they sadly gained no ground. That pleased Providence Park’s large crowd, and it moved the struggling Timbers closer to the playoff line.
Anyways, Friday, despite going out and enjoying the outdoors, I’ll find time for another brief MLS post. Who knows, maybe I’ll inspire you to watch an excellent soccer contest.
Entertainment is the Goal!!
