Today, I have to say, and I really, really mean this: I love soccer. What’s more, I really love the MLS. Today, in my short bit, because men are men, and, even if we strive for perfection, some careless blunders will occur, I’ll try to be fair while recounting last night’s Minnesota United match.
Saturday evening, Minnesota United took on Austin FC. Much to the twenty thousand Loons fans’ dismay, early in the match, a red card was issued to Dotson, one of MNUFC’s key men. That rather curious call riled up the Minnesota United faithful.
After what I witnessed last night, I’d say Loons fans are one hundred percent behind their team. There was no doubt they had disagreed with the call, and I, myself, after witnessing whistles after a few other borderline infractions, wonder if the MLS will investigate the referees. I rarely question referees, and I don’t disagree with every call made last night, but some seemed ticky-tack.
As for the action on the field, despite only one goal being scored, it was purely entertaining. Yet, when considering those who payed to see the game, I feel there should have been another outcome. So, with that said, and after venting my own frustrations, I’ll wish you a great day. Oooh…today, the US Men’s National team play, check them out on Fox Sports.
Entertainment is the Goal!
