Saturday night is almost here, and, with that, a ton of MLS action is fast approaching. Lately, I haven’t posted much about the league, yet, today, since Copa America is nearing its end, I’ll write about a few compelling MLS soccer showdowns.

First off, taking place at six thirty central time, I’m going to make a daring decision, and I’m going to make a questionable choice. At the beginning of the season, both the New England Revolution and Orlando City were doing poorly. Now mid season is here, and Orlando is over the playoff line. New England isn’t fairing quite that well, but they’re better off than their cellar earning start.

So, with temps in the mid seventies, Gillette Stadium should play host to a decent game.

Next up, the Houston Dynamo take on Minnesota United. The Loons are on a six game skid, and the Dynamo are one point below the playoff line. So, being that these teams are only a point apart, and being that a win might propel either back into the playoff race, I’m going to watch these underrated teams.

Lastly, and definitely not least, I’ll highlight a game with two surefire playoff teams. LAFC, after their rocky and inconsistent start, will defend their unbeaten home record against last year’s MLS Cup winners. Since Columbus had to beat LAFC to earn its title, and since LAFC appears just as good as last year, this should be the match of the night.

Columbus will pelt the goal, and Bogusz and Bouanga will make counter attack strikes. At least that’s how I predict the game will unfold. Anyways, LAFC versus Columbus, since it’s on a Saturday night, should be worth a little late night viewing.

Okay, if you have MLS Season Pass, many more games will be available to you. You don’t have to watch my choices, but, if you’re bored of that pitchers duel, and your favorite baseball team isn’t doing so well, tune into a great soccer match, and marvel at the action with friends.

Entertainment is the Goal!
