Last night, while the Sun made its way westward, many MLS games took place in North America. Since I love soccer, a few matches piqued my interest, and I spent this past Saturday evening in front of my television.
Being that I’m a single man, I’m able to watch any Soccer contest I please. However, like I’ve been taught as a child, household tasks come first. So, while the day was full of upkeep and cleaning, I was still able to watch two MLS matches. Because my time is limited, I’ll only tell you about that night’s personal fav.
First off, before I get too into it, I’ll simply mention that, recently, Minnesota United has endured a tough stretch of games. This last match was a relief, and they finally, FINALLY, won a contest.
Albeit the team MNUFC faced, the San Jose Earthquakes, have only fourteen points in the standings, I’m still elated to see the Loons capture three points. The match was certainly a definitive affair, and Minnesota really dominated their opponent.
It started with a Sang Bin cross, one that inadvertently wound up in the net. To be honest, even if San Jose’s Tanner Beason hadn’t kicked the ball in his own goal, the score may have happened anyways. Beyond Beason, a Minnesota United forward was crashing hard…it looked like it was timed perfectly.
Anyways, the second goal was definitely bound for the net. A cross from Rosales was redirected by Bongi Llongwane’s head. It was perfect execution, and, after a few other shots on goal, the South African came through for the fans.
I have to admit, I felt the first half lulled along. The second half certainly provided more action, and I was happy to see Minnesota United demonstrate a wide array of skills. That, aside from winning, is why people are willing to pay for two hours of live soccer action.
Do I expect another win?
Well, right now,at least after this match, Leagues Cup will take place. It features the best two leagues in North America, so the MLS season will be on hold. Minnesota will play in the this invitational tournament. It will be interesting to see, assuming Micheal Boxall will suit up, how a full strength Minnesota team will fair against Liga MX powerhouses.
Of course, I believe the Loons first match will be against the Seattle Sounders. So, I might have to wait before my interest is sated.
Anyways, that’s my post for this week. Heck, if the opportunity arises, I might post more…like MNUFC’s Friday match, but, for now, have an excellent day!
Entertainment is the Goal!!
