Now that it appears, as it seems to be irreversible, that Minnesota United will not be advancing in the Leagues Cup, I’ll tell you what I think. It’ll be short, it’ll be sweet and it’ll be a little…controversial?

Here I go:

Point blank, without holding any punches, I believe the tourney has it out for the loons. Since 2023, the team has an inordinate number of red cards, including two in as many matches this year. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do think one red card was certainly valid…yet, that’s a lot of ejections.

It’s hard to win matches when the team is lacking all eleven team members. That’s exactly why MNUFC will not get past the group stage, and that’s exactly why I’m disappointed. Plus, when I think about it, it affects the Twin Cities economy. People traveling from other towns, heck, who knows, maybe some would visit from Mexico…anyways, an added twenty thousand fans per match adds money into the local coffers.

I do feel bad, and I feel the amount of infractions is quite suspicious. Albeit, I’m only a spectator, and I’ve hardly played the sport. However, from what I’ve witnessed…well, I think it’s hard not to question such a circumstance.

Have an Excellent Day!!
