Earlier, during my last post, I wrote about dietary health, and I wrote about how I eat carbs daily. Actually, I’m consuming carbs right now. Why?
Carbs give me energy!
Actually, I’m doing it for two reasons. First, honey buns are delicious, secondly, and more importantly, tomorrow, I’ll burn over seven hundred calories during my mountain bike ride…and, considering, hours after that physical endeavor, I’ll engage in rather physically demanding labor, I’ll need extra fuel…for a full eight hour shift. So yes, carbs help, and they give me energy for rigorous days.
Granted, you may work a desk job. So, yeah, your carb intake would be less. It’s like putting gas in the car; if you plan a long trip, it’s best to top the tank off. What I’m saying is this; before long bouts of cardio, that’s exactly what carbs are… gas in the tank! Granted, sometimes, after preparing for a bike ride, you might have to alter plans, and you may have to skip your ride. That’s when those honey buns go straight to the waist.
Fear not! Realize your mistake, and then, yes, consume less sugar and carbs. It’s that simple. That bread you ate two days before, well, if you substitute a banana for a honey bun, that fat will be gone before you know it.
For me, it’s not about calorie counting. It’s about realizing God’s purpose for a certain food. Seriously, he’s provided all the essentials for our bodies. It’s really not about how many calories I eat, but, rather, what services those foods provide.
If you engage in a strenuous bike ride, and that ride taxed your legs, eggs and meat should be included in the meal after. Those proteins will repair the muscle breakdown…so on and so forth.
So, yes, in a nutshell, that’s my dietary strategy. Later, I might elaborate. But before I get too far into details, I’ll talk about the first step to any plan…getting your crap together. Believe it or not, for me, it’s a constant battle, but I actually feel my advice might help someone.
Have an Excellent Day!
