Man, right now, I don’t know what to do with myself. I’m on break, I’ve already posted and I don’t feel like completing any crossword puzzles. Instead, I’ll jot down a few more words. And…since I’m writing, I’ll talk about my two days of exercise…yes, I actually posted two activities in as many days.
I’ll start off with this; I know why people abandon physical fitness when they age. My joints are aching…I’m kind of alarmed. I feel that one twist, one false step or one unnecessary reach will do me in. Now, if an incident were to occur, instead of being active, I’d be bed ridden, jobless and piling up medical bills.
So, for now, I’ll kick back and I’ll relax. When I get home, I might strum an easy guitar lick, or, better yet, I might play some Zepplin on my set. Either way, I’ll keep myself busy, and, yes, most rock music is fun to play.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to strain myself, and I’m not going to try to play “Eruption” on my acoustic guitar. Come to think of it, even if I’ve mentioned Led Zepplin, I’ll also leave “Moby Dick” alone… I can play Bonham triplets, but it’s hard to sustain them for that long.
After that, I just might watch some soccer.
Wait! I forgot about my two days of exercise. So, with that in mind, being 51, and trying to stay fit, definitely renders difficulties. Even if I do have aches and pains, running is still fairly easy. Don’t get me wrong, lately, I’ve come nothing remotely close to an eight-minute mile…let me check my stats. Okay: 5 kilometers 9:16
The next day, I did a twenty minute strength training exercise. I did alright, although, while working the next day, my back did feel funky. I’ll chalk that up to poor weightlifting form.
Anyways, that’s my physical fitness accomplishments. Deep down, I feel like I should be doing more. But, really, taking care of yourself includes not over doing it…and I’m beyond age fifty.
Have an Excellent Day!!
