Man, today, my percussion skills were not spot on. Little mistakes were the theme of the day. Untimely fills, extra crashes, missed crashes…simply the wrong drum…and I don’t know how the hell that happens, anyways, little mistakes were fiercely riddling me.
I think I just need to clear my head, and I need to play a little more often. It isn’t a question of skill, it’s simply the need for execution.
Anyways, that’s what’s bothering me today. Because of that, my work performance was better than usual. Isn’t it weird how that works? Frustration in our performance, even in something wholly different, demands us to focus more diligently. That even works with my thought process, which, really is the greatest skill one could possess. Clearing your head, thinking about the task at hand and thinking about how to do that task better should be on your mind.
Sadly, and understandably, it’s not always on my mind. So, maybe it should be my New Year’s resolution.
Yeah, make fun of it if you want, but my New Year’s resolution is to think better. I hope your own resolution comes to fruition, and I hope it makes you happier. Also, because of your vow, I hope you become a better person. WAIT!! Don’t get me wrong! You’re fine the way you are, but taking perfection to the next level…that’s amazing!!
