Yesterday’s lesson was not fun to learn. Yeah, I think it happens to everyone, and I am certainly no exception. Today, I’ll talk about my woeful discovery.

First off, before I get too far, and before I trash myself too much, I’ll say this: I’ll never claim to be a guitarist. Furthermore, the guitar I own is some junky pawnshop beginner instrument. So, I’m not expecting the world from myself.

However, when I play a song, I don’t want to sound horrible. I’m not overly critical of myself, but, yesterday, I recorded myself playing a song. Uhh…I suck…that’s all I have to say.

When playing the song, I thought I was doing alright. Yet, when I played it back, my vocals were rather pitchy, and the chords sounded rough. But, hey, there’s room for improvement, and, during free time, I have something to work on.

The lesson is this, and no matter how hard I try to drill it into my head, I have to constantly remind myself: if you want to do something great, you must work on it…it simply won’t suddenly happen.

Well, it’s time for work, so I’ll bid everyone a good day.

Enjoy your afternoon!
