The night before last, I revisited a past memory. The memory stemmed from a television event, and it united the pop music world. That event was Live Aid. What I really remember most, and what was the band’s statement performance, especially for their frontman, was Queen’s four or five song set.
To me, it’s still one of the best live performances ever. I’m not much for going to arenas, that is when live music is involved. I’d rather hang at a bar, and I’d rather listen to rock covers.
But…
That day, Freddy Mercury was electric, and the whole of Wembley Stadium responded. That day, in that venue, for that moment, I’d have gladly been a spectator. From that moment on, I’ve regarded Queen as rock legend. On Saturday, with most of my neighborhood fast asleep, I watched their stellar performance
Then, with wistful memories in my head, I put my phone on the charger, snuggled in my bed and I faded off to sleep. Freddie Mercury has been gone a very long time…but that memory lives on!
Have an Excellent Day!
