Okay, note to everyone: I’m not a boater. Plus, I have no idea what a Great Lakes sailor requires. Being that I’ve lived near Lake Michigan almost all of my life, you might find that curious…I’ve just never owned a boat. Well, okay, I have a kayak…

Anyways, even if I don’t know the first thing about boating, I’ve grown up near some of the best tourist spots in the Midwest, and they attract a ton of boaters. So, being that I do have some common sense, I realize what a boater may want.

So, Green Bay’s South Bay Marina, which may not be the Great Lakes’ best boater’s haven, gained my attention.

I’ll start with what displeased me, and there was only one true knock: there’s no nearby lodging. So if you wanted to stay the night, and enjoy the shoreline attractions, which includes one of Wisconsin’s best family amusement parks, you’d have to call an Uber, and you’d have to find a Green Bay Area hotel.

Other than that, while it takes on a rather industrial atmosphere, the amenities, including public restrooms, a swimming pool and a quaint eatery, are definitely pluses.

The eatery looks close to hosting guests.

And the boat slips seem ready.

Better yet, if a boater wants to simply stretch their legs, there’s plenty of fresh green.

Compared to its Door County counterparts, South Bay is a bit lacking, yet, if you’d just like a fun Green Bay boat ride, this marina may be perfect for a few hours respite. I confess, I don’t know what the docking fees are, but the marina has its own website. That will provide the other answers you would need.

Safe Travels!
