Okay, today, I’d love to write about Green Bay. Yet, in the land of green and gold, we’re experiencing wet and rainy weather. So, instead, I’ll figure out what else I could work on. Since I am doing just that, I’m sure others will too.

You know, I’m not completely up on sports television copyright laws. So, I don’t know, if I were to sit down, and if I were to watch a game, and then, later on, if I had decided to write about it, yeah, I’m not totally clear on what I can and can’t say.

However, being that CBS Sports and Paramount Plus probably won’t mind, and because it may draw interest, and you may want to view it yourself, I’ll tell you a little, just a little bit, about yesterday afternoon’s UEFA Champions League match.

Right now, there are only four teams remaining. Yesterday’s soccer game pitted Barcelona against Inter. Barcelona hails from the Spanish league, known as La Liga. Inter, on the other hand, hails from the Italian, or Serie A, league.

In case you’re wondering, which you might be, the UEFA Champions League is a tournament of sorts. UEFA stands for the United European Football Association. So, as you may have guessed, there are a ton of teams, representing a ton of European leagues.

In European soccer, while many countries have leagues, only five are truly the pinnacle of European Football. England, Germany, France, Spain and Italy brandish the five most prestigious leagues in the world.

Because they are the best leagues, while other leagues are included, the big five send more representatives than others. Basically, if you’re in the Premier League, depending on last year’s Champions League results, if you finish fourth, or, sometimes, fifth, in your assigned league, you’ll earn a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Right now, and obviously, since there are only four teams left, not all of these leagues have surviving representatives. Germany’s Bundasliga, while it had two teams in the quarterfinals, has none remaining in this year’s semifinals.

Anyways, yesterday afternoon, Barcelona, who sits at La Liga’s number one position, and Inter, who trail only Napoli in this year’s Serie A quest, faced off against one another.

That Game Was Fantastic!

Less than seven minutes into the game, Inter scored a goal. The heel tap, a very tricky shot, was a delight to witness. At one point, Inter had a two goal lead. Yet, Barcelona, led by seventeen year old Lamine Yamal, came back in stunning fashion.

By the end of the match, which seemed to contain nonstop action, it was obvious these two squads were exhausted. After the eightieth minute, despite numerous subs, the game seemed to simmer down, and the 3-3 tie was inevitable.

If you’d like to know more about this game, the replay is available on Paramount Plus: the CBS streaming service.

Well, now that I’ve said that, and I’ve tried to drum up some interest, I hope your day is a success.

Have an Excellent Day!!
