This week’s post will be spent on down time. More specifically, I’m going to write about what I do during down time. It feels like a whole lot of nothing, at least that’s what I think. Yet, when I reflect after a day off, I realize that I’m usually rather productive. I just desire more output from myself.
One thing I pride myself on, and I don’t treat it as optional, despite aging, I exercise four to five days a week. I realize, when my blah days hit, that’s an indication that I need physical activity. Yet, during those days, I need to push myself.
Exercise is uplifting, stress relieving and confidence building. It also gives you a fit appearance. I think that’s important, because it gives you a positive image of yourself.
A positive self image is important. I think if you feel good about yourself, you treat people better.
I know those who have a negative self image tend to treat others poorly. It’s not always the case, but think about high school. Bullying, and the biggest bullies, resulted because, somewhere, somehow, they were probably treated like dirt.
So, in order to be a decent person, investing in yourself is a must. At least, and I mean this, that’s how just how I feel. Self care isn’t selfish, it’s giving the best you to the world.
So, don’t be afraid to be your best. You might be surprised. Not only will you achieve much, you’ll also wind up helping others…most likely. Then, through the positive deeds, you might make yourself someone who is trusted, respected and admired…believe me, even if you don’t realize it, you’ll appreciate the end result.
Take the long road, don’t settle on a destination and enjoy the journey.
Safe Travels!
