Choosing My Five Favorite Fruits

List your top 5 favorite fruits.

Hey, here’s another fun topic: my five favorite fruits. Now, I don’t know if I’m supposed to list them, although I’m almost positive I should, from least liked to most loved, but I’m going to do just that.

So, here we go…

Number 5…Pears 🍐

It seems, in this day and age, pears get a bad rap. I mean, in slang, they have a nasty, nasty rep. I’m certain you’ve heard it said, and I assure you those words wouldn’t come from my mouth, but many people use the phrase ‘pear shaped loser’. Does that mean a pear is any less healthier? I think not. They’re full of vitamins C and B. Oh, and most importantly, they’re juicy and delicious. And if you’re wondering, yes, I’m aware the words ‘pear shaped loser’ are only referring to a pear’s figure🍐. It was my attempt at a very, very, very bad joke.

Number 4…Apples 🍎

There’s no sound more distinct than the bite of an apple. Plus, when compared to pears, if we were to use the American lexicon, the apple has a much more positive connotation. You know, people say things like, “You’re the apple of my eye,” and, “as American as apple pie”. Plus, there are so many choices of those crisp, juicy treats, one could hardly go wrong. They’re also a good source of vitamins A, B, K and C.

Number 3…Oranges 🍊

Despite being acidic as all get out, oranges are very sweet. The only reason they don’t rank higher on the list, and, yes, this reason deters me from eating them on work breaks, they’re sticky and messy. Added to that fact, they have a rind. And peeling them, at least compared to number one on my list, can be one messy endeavor. Set all that aside, oranges are delicious, even if they’re the most problematic of my favorites.

Number 2…Grapes 🍇

I just returned from Sonoma Valley, California, a place where grapes are abundant. Of course, those grapes are destined to be stomped and fermented, but, through that, you see the value of this unique fruit. I mean every fruit I’ve listed, at least up to this point, also provides a popular juice option. But grapes, yeah, they’ve been making humans lightheaded since time began.

Number 1…Bananas 🍌

Finally, I’ve reached number 1: the potassium packed banana. They’re mushy, sweet and affordable. Plus, if you have a foe, you can booby trap them with your banana’s peel…just kidding. But in all honesty, if I opt for a fruit snack during breaks, a banana is my first choice. And a Banana is versatile. Peanut butter and banana sandwiches, banana splits and banana smoothies are all favorites of mine. So, yeah, this one ranks numero uno.

And that’s my list. When I sit and think more about it, there’s many fruits I love that didn’t make the list: strawberries, cherries, raspberries…. Yet, the ones I’ve listed I consume most. Now, you’ll have to excuse me, I’ve just made myself hungry!

Have an excellent day!!
