On what subject(s) are you an authority?

Today’s topic is cause for apprehension. That topic, simply stated, would be ‘a subject in which I am an authority.’ I have hobbies, but would I considered myself an information hub on my pastime activities?…Hmmm, I’m not sure.

I’ll start off by saying that, and I hope those I work with don’t disagree, I’m an expert at knowing my work duties. I’m sure, for one irritating reason or another, someone could poke holes in what I do. Yet, I know my tasks well, and try to ask questions about the big picture.

Second, history was my favorite school subject. And, even when I don’t realize it, my mind is delving into our past. I don’t have a specific area I’m really knowledgeable about. Yet, from Medieval Britain to Colonial America, I do have my favorite eras.

Going further, I’d say the Balsam trail, if someone were to inquire as to the difficulty and dangers of that particular mountain bike path, is a subject in which I could be a reliable source. For years, I’ve biked that course. Actually, after gathering the courage, it was the first single track trail I’ve tackled. Over the years, they may have altered it, but I could easily guide a lesser experienced rider.

And finally, and I realize many on WordPress could claim the same thing, I understand how to write. I’ve worked hard to learn the rules of the written word. And some guidelines, I’ll admit, still remain a bit cloudy. Yet, I feel I have a decent grasp on our English language.

There, that’s what I know. If there’s something I’m currently learning, and would desire to improve upon, it would be living a sustainable lifestyle. But for now, as I do with many of my pursuits, I’ll rely on individuals who are more knowledgeable.

Have an excellent day!
