What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?

I believe that, recently, if memory serves me correctly, I’ve written about my habits in a few posts.  Today, being that our habits define us, I’ll better illustrate which ones better my life.

First off, in previous posts, I’ve mentioned how crossword puzzles have helped me.  After making my bed, and sitting down to those brain games, I stimulate my mind.  Crosswords don’t just jar the cobwebs, they expose me to info I’d otherwise be oblivious to.

Secondly, and I should have listed this first, I make my bed right after I wake up.  I started this, I’m referring to this simple houskeeping step, as a response to a blogger’s suggestion.  Her blog topic was orginization.

Okay, since I’ve mentioned that, let me set the scene.  Anyone who knew younger me, and I’m only going back to my thirties, would have said I had no organizational skills…none.

My motto, as I think of my haphazard manner, was to just get down and dirty.  At times, that’s still my motto.  Yet, as I’ve realized that successful people are those who are organized, and not necessarily the smartest, or the hardest working, or even the nicest, I knew I had to settle down and plan my steps.  So, setting the tone, a fresh bed starts off every day.

Third on this list, would be writing this blog.  Would I like to make writing a career, you bet your bum!  But right now, it’s an excellent cerebral exercise.  It also brings a sense of clarity to my being.

Lastly, although I’m not going to list exercise, which, okay, come to think of it, I guess I will.  Exercise helps both the heart and the mind, so doing it three times a week is a must.

Okay, even if I’ve said lastly before, once again, lastly, I like to get out and about.  A simple trip to Dollar Tree, or a convenience store, provides much needed social interaction.  Sometimes, living by myself, I feel trapped in my house, so I make a stop at a public place.

Wait, alright…finally, I mean, Now…Lastly, before I go to work, I tidy my house.  When you have a tough day, and your mind no longer cares to be a part of your life, seeing an orderly house points to something good.  And then, yes, you can believe that life is alright.

Well, I hope my answers were satisfactory.  Anyways, keep yourselves healthy…in any way you define healthy.

Have an Excellent Day!

  1. Of course. one of my habit is opening the refrigerator door whenever I feel empty feeling, I might need to change this. Instead of opening refrige door, open the real door to walk out to breath deeply in and out ..

    1. That might help. Sometimes, sights and sounds can change one’s mindset.
