What brings a tear of joy to your eye?
Joy. As humans, we desire that emotion. I think most of us, myself included, fruitlessly strive for that state of mind. And truthfully, as I think of many people’s goals, we must ask ourselves, “Will those aspirations bring euphoria, or will the result be a tainted garden?” So, as I step back, and ascertain my being, I’ll use this post to understand what really makes me happy.
First off, items that have brought a tear to my eye, and a they have a few times, are family heirlooms, and they’re weighty when they remind me of a departed grandparent. The craziest thing about that, and it took years for me to understand, once, as think back to one Christmas Eve, and I had always wondered why it caused waterworks, anyways, I had received a present from a distant family member…that Bart Starr photo floored me.
Now, I realize, and I remember, as I think of my visits to my grandparents, that my grandfather touted that hall of fame quarterback. So, when I saw the personalized autograph, yeah, visions a smiling Kenneth F. Karas brought a tear to my eye.
Conversely, instead of something that has brought me joy, how about something that would stave off the water company. Heck, I bet I’d bawl like a baby…writing success. I’ve dreamed of it my entire life, and, yes, as you can probably tell, I’m still working towards it. So, maybe, just maybe, I’ll get to cry my eyes out…I know, that’s a horrible goal.
Anyways, those are my goals. Definitely, while I sit on my lunch break, I’m going to read many people’s ultimate wishes. It’s fun to see what makes people tick.
Have an Excellent Day!
