How do you celebrate holidays?

Okay, I’m going to stray a bit, just a slight tad, from today’s main topic. Yet, I’ll draw from a similar subject. How about this? While I won’t explain how I celebrate holidays, I’ll lend visions of my big 5-0 birthday bash. Believe it or not, and I know, when I mention my age, I’m struggling with it, anyways, I’m turning fifty on Saturday…GOD! So, as I’ve reached that milestone, I’ll tell you a bit about my plans.

First off, I’ll spend my birthday with family. Due to autumn, we might choose to visit a corn maze…and maybe an escape room. With all my daily toils set aside for one blissful day, those endeavors should be liberating. Heck, since I am aging, and my bones will most likely need a rest, I’ll see if we can find a hayride. That would certainly be pleasant, and I think everyone would enjoy it.

As for the fact that fifty years have passed, when I contemplate life, I realize I’ve been acquainted with thousands of faces. And when you witness diversity, it reminds you that so many points of view exist…heck, a seemingly harmless statement, at least harmless from your point of view, might forever sever a bond.

I firmly believe, above all else, I’ve learned tact during my fifty years on Earth. I wouldn’t say that I’ve grown wise, I’m an old fool hell bent on learning new things. Learning…knowledge…it strengthens one’s being…And I’ll push this chaotic mind to its limits.

So, celebrate, lament, whatever one does with signs of age, and however they digest the day that signifies undeniable truth, that’s what I’ll do on Saturday.
