What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?
In our lives, we search for easy paths to success. Part of that, and yes, I do have one, would be a planned routine. Yet, from day to day, with all the curves life throws at us, parts of our entire routine may sometimes be missed. Here, in this brief exercise, I’ll tell you what part of my routine I skip most often.
This is the task I omit the most: washing my dishes. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a pile in my kitchen sink, but I will let dirty dishes sit a bit. There are reasons why I won’t perform this easy chore. With this small confession, let me list some of my excuses.
First off, I live alone. When eating meals, the only dishes I dirty would be a fork, plate and glass. So, when I finish eating, washing dishes every time, well, it doesn’t hurt to skip that…at least for a few meals.
And yes, since I live alone, and since I only dirty a few dishes, if I were to wash my grub eating necessities after every meal, it would be a waste of water and dish soap. Being that I’m on a budget, this helps save valuable pennies.
Lastly, in some instances, I just don’t have time. Many days, if eating just before work, or even on my lunch break, I try to cram last minute tasks into that vital hour, so dishes will take a backseat.
Those points, the ones I’ve listed above, are excellent reasons why I miss a few dish washing sessions…okay, I know, sessions probably isn’t the greatest word choice…but, flip it, I’m leaving it in. Anyways, as you can tell by my little post, after a meal, if I were to leave dirty dishes sitting in my sink, eh, I simply don’t feel guilty.
Have an Excellent Day!!
