If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

If I could speak to my turtle, and if I could relay one thing to my beloved reptile, I’d tell him this: I don’t want to hurt you. In this post, I’ll expand upon that thought.

It’s been ten years, a proud ten years, and Odin is still afraid of me…I literally don’t know why. I feed him, I replish the tank’s water, I change the heat lamp when needed, heck, I even change the filter from time to time.

Yet, Odin, if I get too close, he’ll go into panic mode, and he’ll whip his head into his shell. It makes me feel villainous.

After he tucks his head, and I patiently wait beside his tank, his head will slowly creep from its shell…but…then he sees me! And the little dude is back in his shell…I simply don’t understand it.

Anyways, I’d tell the dude, “I’m your friend!”

Have an Excellent Day!!

  1. Your post about Odin, your turtle, is both touching and heartfelt. It’s clear how much you care for him and the efforts you make to ensure his well-being. The way you patiently wait for him to come out of his shell, even though he often retreats, shows your kindness and dedication as a pet owner. It’s endearing that you want to communicate to him that you’re a friend, not a foe. Your patience and understanding with Odin’s timid nature are truly admirable. Keep up the great work in taking care of him, and remember, your consistent care and love over these ten years are what truly matter. Have a wonderful day too, filled with small victories and maybe a little more trust from Odin! 🐢💚🌟
