What are your favorite sports to watch and play?
My favorite sport to watch and the adventure sport I actively pursue are totally different animals. To tell the truth, I’m a little wishy washy about my absolute favorite sport to watch. But, in my aging years, it has drastically changed.
In my youth, if I could find a few friends, I would play sandlot baseball games, so, because of that, I always loved the Milwaukee Brewers. Yet, lately, I don’t know, but baseball has become dull to watch. In fact, this year, I replaced baseball with soccer. The league I watched is known as the MLS.
Wouldn’t you know it, when the MLS ended, that’s when soccer’s big dogs began to play, and, although I love the MLS, the European leagues certainly display a ton of talent. I learned of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, Bayern Munich…okay, I broke the rule of threes, but you get the idea.
Right now, considering I have access to the top three European leagues, and there’s live games on my days off, I’m more apt to watch futbol than I am to catch a game of football. To be honest, considering there’s only one top tier football league, and there are tons of soccer leagues, there are many more games to watch, and the chances of finding a very competitive game are plentiful.
Yet, all that being said, and considering one of America’s most iconic sports venues is five miles from my house, a Packer game is numero uno on my list of must see sports happenings.
There’s also a pro youth hockey league, known as the USHL, and Green Bay has a team in that league. So, I’ve learned to love that sport as well. Take that for what it’s worth.
Now, as far as the sport I like to engage in most, that would be Mountain Biking. It keeps me in shape and active. Come to think of it, I think it also helps with focus. Believe it or not, now that I think of it, and other bikers might call me crazy, but I think it’s a mental workout as well.
When on a single track, you’re confronted with tricky terrain, and, many times, actually constantly, one must choose the correct line. And there must be anticipation as well. Lastly, one must be attentive, after rains, and rider wear and tear, your favorite path will change. When that happens, your approach will also have to change.
Anyways, now you know my favorite sports, and you know why I love them. If you’re a sports lover, I hope you’ve enjoyed this piece.
Have an Excellent Day!
